Michael Giakoumis

Bio

Michael Giakoumis is a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced Physiotherapist with a background Strength and conditioning.

Since year 11 P.E. where he decided Physiotherapy was the profession he wanted to do, Michael has had the sole focus of becoming one of the best sports Physiotherapist worldwide.

Having graduated from the University of South Australia, Adelaide and subsequently completing his Masters in Strength & Conditioning and Sports Physiotherapy at Edith Cowan University, Perth and La Trobe University, Melbourne respectively, Michael has spent his whole career accumulating knowledge related to his areas of specialty.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked in elite sport, acting as the lead physiotherapist to a Men’s football academy and Women’s first team, to also working in AFL. He now works with Olympic level track and field athletes at British Athletics where he also leads the medical research and innovation department. Alongside this, Michael lectures on muscle injuries and works at CHHP, whilst consulting to a number of NBA, NFL & EPL teams where they perform biomechanical analysis and tendon monitoring.

His passion, knowledge and experience hence make Michael a specialist in the area of the hip and groin, and lower limb muscle and tendon injuries.
